Family Advisory Service CIC

When you refer into the Family Advisory Service for advice and/or, support we will use this information to safely deliver our services to you and to meet your support needs. Your information is held in a client file on our client database, and on paper-based records which are held in a locked cabinet with restricted access. Your data will also be used anonymously for statistical reports for monitoring purposes.  This is so we can assess the performance of our services and how we may improve them. The data will not include any information that could be used to identify any individual. This information is processed because it is necessary to honour our funding contract, to fulfil our legal and regulatory obligations, and because it is in our legitimate interests to do so. 

This notice applies to visitors to our website and social media platforms, subscribers, donors, fundraisers, supporters, event attendees, volunteers, job applicants, people who receive advice, support or housing services from us. 

Family Support

We offer family support to adults of all ages, genders and backgrounds in Sunderland. 

We can support you with:

Sustaining or re-establishing family ties. 

Building resilience within the family

Financial hardship, such as support to access benefits

Housing applications, housing Issues and concerns both social and private 

Digital inclusion and access to online services

Accessing services responding to domestic abuse regardless of gender

Drug and Alcohol concerns

Social isolation within the community by linking you with local services.

Improving physical and emotional well-being

Liaise with agencies on your behalf

Or any family concern that impacts on family life. 

We provide advocacy, signpost and/or accompany you to relevant support networks to change your situation for the better. We will work closely with partner agencies to ensure you access the advice and support you need. 

Parenting 

We can support you with:

Accessing and liaising with local services to improve the lives of your children emotionally and physically

Accessing services for parents with children who have behavioural issues

Individualised family support that respects your family’s culture and values

Child contact through the family court process from mediation to the completion and submitting of court papers, and provide support for family court hearings

Parenting Plans

Variation and Non-compliance child contact orders.

Support estranged dads

Paternity tests through the courts

Or any other parenting concern impacting on family life. 

We provide advocacy, signpost and/or accompany you to relevant support networks to change your situation for the better. We will work closely with partner agencies to ensure you access the advice support you need.
